Student Activities

Don't miss the Student - Professional Mixer on Wednesday, March 1st!

Student Mentoring Mixer - Everyone is asked to participate in the student-mentor mixer! Students will be able to interact with professionals from private, state and federal organizations and NGO's to ask specific questions about career opportunities, experiences, and expectations. This event will also offer students a chance to obtain some perspective on organizational culture, learn about the different types of fish and wildlife work that goes on within various organizations, tribes and agencies, and gain a better understanding of challenges and advancements in the profession as well as characteristics of a successful professional. Professionals will get a chance to share their advice and knowledge on working in the fish and wildlife profession with aspiring future professionals.

Résumé Review and Interview Feedback, - a résumé review station will be available to provide students an opportunity to receive feedback on their résumé, bring printed résumés and/or a laptop and ask questions and seek advice from fish and wildlife professionals from across different fields working in the private or public sector. We will also give students an opportunity to do mock interviews (no preparation necessary), receive feedback on responses to interview questions, and seek advice from interview professionals to improve their presentation. If you are a professional interested in volunteering your experience for these activities, please contact Janet Rachlow, Jessica Buehlow or Lance Hebdon.

For information on the program, please contact meeting President-Elect Helen Neville.
